Trying to decide where to eat during Baylor homecoming? We've got an app for that

I used to be a football purist.

Maybe I still am. But, as recently noted, I'm broken up with sports and in no hurry to get back together.

I used to say, "give me football and you can keep all the marching bands and homecoming queens and parades and cheerleaders and everything else besides the actual football."

However, since I'm broken up with sports at the moment and have no desire to watch sports as a fan or spectator, I'm really looking forward to Baylor homecoming this weekend. (Upon editing of this blog, I realized this sounds like a knock on the Baylor football team. It's not. I'm just more open to hoopla and pageantry than usual).

That's in part because Baylor puts on a pretty darn good homecoming. I've lived in Waco for most of my life and, even though I've never been a Baylor Bear, I have fond memories of bonfires, parades, tailgating and football games that go way back.

But I'm also excited about Baylor homecoming this weekend because we have rolled out our WacoFork iPhone app just in time.

So when your out of town friends arrive at your home, after you've all hugged and stated how good it is to see each other, someone is going to ask "where you wanna eat?" That's where we come in, obviously.

When the last float has passed and the last Shriner has driven his little go cart in a circle and buzzed down the street (do they still have Shriners on little go carts at the parade?) you and your friends are going to stand around and look at each other, wondering what's next on the agenda. Someone will ask, "you wanna get something to eat?" And someone else will reply "Sure. Where?" And, again, that's where we come to the rescue with the brand new WacoFork iPhone app.

And finally, when Baylor stomps on Missouri and you and your friends want to celebrate the victory with food and drink, well, you know.

So if you haven't already downloaded our app and you can see yourself in one of the previous scenarios, then do it now. When you use it, your friends will think you're smart and cool. We don't mind if they think we're cool too.

Everybody is going to win.

One more bite: We will be tailgating pretty much all afternoon outside Floyd Casey Stadium. We will have new WacoFork T-shirts, so come get one and hang out with us.
