I planned to have lunch at Twin Peaks, taking one for the team in order to blog about it.
I heard via the WacoFork wire that Twin Peaks opened on Monday. That was true. However, they're only open for dinner this week. So my plan was foiled.
To be honest, though, I really feel like I was let off the hook after walking in and being told I couldn't take a picture of the inside because of corporate policy. The problem with chain restaurants is that they're far removed from the community and they make stupid policy that prevents someone from visually promoting the fact that they have a lot of big fancy TVs for sports-game watching and a comfortable-looking bar.
Never mind that breastaurants like Twin Peaks prey on sophomoric men who want to go in and make boob jokes. Never mind that the women who work at breastaurants grow tired of being eye candy on display day after day.
Course, it's probably not a bad place to watch a ball game. Alas, there were no must-watch ball games on TV at noon today and I have other work to do, so it was for the best that they're only open from 5 p.m. to whenever they close this week.
That is all. Consider yourself appraised of the situation.
